Lawn Care Without the Hassle in Sun City Center
Hydroseeding in Sun City Center is mostly about repair and renewal. The community grew from about 2,100 people in 1970 to nearly 31,000 in 2020 and has more than 18,000 housing units, from single-family homes to duplexes, townhouses and apartments. Many of those yards were planted decades ago. Thin turf, bare patches after an irrigation repair, and worn strips along drives are the jobs we see most.
A tidy, quiet job
Hydroseeding suits a neighborhood where residents and associations want work done neatly. The slurry goes on in one pass, the green mulch shows exactly where seed was applied, and there are no pallets of sod sitting in the driveway. For small repair areas we bring a hose rig and stay off the rest of the lawn.
Golf-course neighbors
The community has about five golf courses, and many homes back onto fairways, ponds or drainage swales. When a swale between yards washes out or a pond edge thins, we seed it with a bonding mulch so the bank holds through summer storms. For property managers, we can quote common areas and swales as a single project.
River on the south edge
The southern edge of Sun City Center follows the Little Manatee River, which the state lists as an Outstanding Florida Water. Little Manatee River State Park, about 5 miles south of Sun City, covers 2,433 acres along the river. Any regrading on land that drains south toward the river should keep sediment on site with silt fence until the grass is in.
Freeways on two sides
Interstate 75 forms the northwestern edge of the community and US 301 the eastern edge. Construction along those corridors needs erosion control and seeding on lots, ponds and road shoulders.

Sun City Center Questions
Can you seed just a few bare spots?
Yes. Small repairs are common here, and we can treat only the damaged areas.
Will hydroseeding make a mess on my driveway?
We mask edges and rinse off overspray. The green color on the lawn is the mulch and fades as grass grows.
Can you fix a washed-out swale behind my villa?
Yes. We regrade the swale if needed and seed it with a bonding mulch so it holds.
How much watering does a repair need?
Light watering once or twice a day until the seed sprouts, then less often. Your irrigation system can usually handle it.
